What a coincidence! I recently started doing the “Doodlewash” prompts for June — in fact, there will be a post about it coming up on my blog. You’ll get to see my seal. I nearly fainted when I saw the prompt. My first thought was an animal. So then I thought about a seal much like you painted — it’s great — but I figured that might be harder than a sea lion. So, yes, I did the animal, and I was surprised at how it turned out. I haven’t seen today’s prompt yet. But I do like your seal watercolor. Are you doing to do World Watercolor Month in July?
World Watercolor Month is an online challenge from Doodlewash. Artists do one watercolor painting each day throughout July. There is a prompt list, but you don’t have to use any of the prompts. I did it the first year it started — 2016 — and haven’t done it since. I’m not really a watercolor artist. But now that I’m learning more about it, I’m going to take part. It will be good way to keep practicing with watercolor and improving my abilities.
So basically the same as the doodlewash prompts only with freedom from the prompts. Yes, I will do that. Only I am going to try to stick to the prompts. It gives me ideas 🙂 I’m really excited to be starting to use watercolors. I’ve always thought them so difficult, but it isn’t as bad as I thought…though that seal I thought was sad. But it served a purpose. I did a flower the other day and I liked it a lot. I’m learning to use brush markers and that is a lot easier. But I still have a lot to learn. A LOT! Have a great day Judith, btw I’m Kendall
Hi, Kendall! Beautiful name. 🙂 Watercolors are definitely interesting. I love playing with them, but that’s about all I can do. I’m going to try to stay with the World Watercolor Month prompts, too. With watercolors, it’s really hard for me to come up with ideas about what to draw. 🙂

I’ve seen the little countdown, but don’t really know what that is.
